Lifestyle Interventions for Treatment and Remission of Type 2 Diabetes and Prediabetes in Adults: Presenting ACLM's First Clinical Practice Guideline

This session, presented by Drs. Richard Rosenfeld, Mahima Gulati, and Meagan Grega, will provide attendees with a brief understanding of the clinical practice guideline development process and a more comprehensive understanding of the results of ACLM’s current guideline in development – Lifestyle Interventions for Treatment and Remission of Type 2 Diabetes and Prediabetes in Adults. Starting in 2023, the American College of Lifestyle Medicine (ACLM) assembled a Guideline Development Group (GDG) consisting of 20 panel members, representing the disciplines of advanced practice nursing, cardiology, clinical pharmacology, behavioral medicine, endocrinology, family medicine, lifestyle medicine, nutrition and dietetics, health education, health coaching, sleep medicine, sports medicine, and obesity medicine. Between one and three case histories will be presented as examples of how to apply the key action statements developed in the guideline to LM patient care in primary care and endocrinology.
