Dr. Richard Rosenfeld is a Distinguished Professor and Past Chairman of Otolaryngology (Ear, Nose, and Throat) at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he founded the Committee for Plant-based Health and Nutrition and is faculty advisor to medical students for the Lifestyle Medicine Interest Group, Downstate Initiative for Nutrition Empowerment, and the Downstate Running Club. He is the Director of Guidelines and Quality for the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and is a Diplomate and Board Member of the American Board of Lifestyle Medicine. Dr. Rosenfeld follows a whole food, plant-based diet, runs marathons, and enjoys regular weight training. His scholarship includes 350 published articles and chapters, over 1,000 scientific presentations in 20 countries, and 5 books. Dr. Rosenfeld has more than 30 years of experience in leadership, evidence-based medicine, and health policy, including innovative national and international work in creating clinical practice guidelines, implementation strategies, and measures of quality and performance. He has been listed as one of America’s Top Doctors for more than 20 years by Castle Connolly.
