Dr. Padmaja Patel, MD, FACLM, DipABLM, is the President-Elect of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and also serves as the Vice President of the World Lifestyle Medicine Organization. Dr. Patel is the Vice President of Midland Quality Alliance, an ACO-REACH in Midland, TX, and is a member of the National Quality Forum's 2022-2022 Leadership Consortium. Additionally, she is a founding member of the advisory board of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine's Health Systems Council and chairs the ACLM's Clinical Practice and Quality Committee.
Dr. Patel has developed innovative care delivery models in Lifestyle Medicine, such as physician office-based intensive cardiac rehabilitation programs and lifestyle medicine-based intensive therapeutic lifestyle programs for chronic disease remission and reversal, both in-person and on virtual platforms. She is a passionate advocate for integrating Lifestyle Medicine within health systems across the patient care continuum and in employee and population health.
For her outstanding achievement in the field, Dr. Patel has been awarded the prestigious status of Fellow of ACLM. She is also a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Intensivist, recognizing her successful use of Lifestyle Medicine as a therapeutic modality to prevent, treat, and reverse chronic diseases in individuals, populations, and communities. Furthermore, Dr. Patel co-founded Healthy City, a non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of plant-based nutrition within her community.
